Whatever Happened to I’m Sorry

I put my heart & soul into you
But you have your own agenda.
I've given you more than enough
chances to admit the wrongs.
I shouldn't have to tell you
what should already come from your heart.
I've been burned by you and others like you for way too long.
When you did it the first time
I simply turned my back and walked away.
Why?
Because I could no longer stomach your lies.
The second time I told you
you were no longer welcomed in my life.
But now I think you owe me.
For all the pain, lies and hurt you inflicted on me in my life.
Whatever happened to
You are the world to me
What happened to
It will be different this time, I promise
Whatever happened to
I'm sorry, for hurting your feelings
and for abandoning you in your time of need.
I'm sorry for making you feel like you didn't matter.
And for not being completely honest for how I really feel.
I know I have said it to you.
More than you deserved to receive.
Now I deserve that same respect.
