Today is Juneteenth, a day to celebrate and honor Black culture and history. And it's a day to celebrate freedom – on June 19, 1865, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, those still enslaved in Texas were finally free.
Last week, the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach. had me teach art class in celebration of Juneteenth, creating a safe space where attendees put together vision boards to share their hopes and goals for the future.
These free workshops will be back July 12 & 26. 6pm-8pm
